Hello everyone!
EVE’s teaching modules came to an end last week: like the previous years the students were engaged in exploring the rights and the narratives of the nature in Africa, while also using and expanding their creative side through the making of comics.
It was brilliant to see their stories come together with their team work, and we are happy to share this experience with all of you!
The students’ presentations ended up with the awarding of the best work from each modules, voted by the students themselves, while the EVE’s staff handed over an extra award for a special mention!
The stories awarded were:
1. “Obroni Wawu: Il grido della Terra” (The scream of the land), a story about the effects of the fast fashion industry. (Seminar D)
2. “L’inferno sono gli altri” (The Others are the hell), a dystopic story about climate change effects and land’s and people’s expolitation. (Seminar F)
3. Special Mention – “Parco Sempione” teaches about the deeper meaning of songs and the tragic colonial occupation of Congo. (Seminar D)
The students were awarded a copy of Vanessa Nakate’s book “A Bigger Picture: My Fight to Bring a New African Voice to the Climate Crisis”.
Here you can see a small seak peek!

Soon we will make available the entire collection of this year’s comics!
We would like to thank all the students that participated with enthusiasm and Stefano Casini from the NEMO Academy in Florence for his precious insights on comic-making and story development.
thank you for following along,
EVE’s Team
